Oggi voglio condividere con voi un brano che amo molto tratto da “La prima e ultima libertà” di Jiddu krishnamurti, (Ubaldini Editore p. 22).

“Prima di poter scoprire qual è il nostro scopo della vita, che cosa significhi tutto – guerre, rivalità nazionali, conflitti, tutto questo guazzabuglio – dovremmo cominciare da noi stessi: non è forse vero?
Suona tutto semplice, ma è estremamente difficile. Per seguire se stessi, per vedere il modo in cui funziona il proprio pensiero, è necessario essere straordinariamente attenti, sempre più attenti, così che, quando si comincia a essere sempre più attenti ai meandri del proprio modo di pensare, delle proprie reazioni, dei propri sentimenti, si comincia anche a possedere una consapevolezza maggiore non solo di se stessi, ma anche di un altro con cui si stia in rapporto.
Conoscere se stessi è studiarsi nell’azione, che è relazione. La difficoltà è che siamo troppo impazienti; vogliamo riuscire, vogliamo raggiungere uno scopo, e così non abbiamo né il tempo, né l’occasione di concederci l’opportunità di studiare, di osservare. Alternativamente ci siamo dedicati a varie attività – guadagnarci la vita, allevare bambini – oppure abbiamo assunto certe responsabilità nelle più svariate organizzazioni; e ci siamo impegnati in tanti modi diversi che abbiamo ben poco tempo per riflettere su noi stessi, per osservare , per studiare. Pertanto, in realtà, la responsabilità della reazione dipende da noi stessi, e non da un altro. Ricercare dei guru, e i loro sistemi, per tutto il mondo, leggere i libri più recenti su questo o su quello, e via discorrendo, a me pare terribilmente vuoto e futile; perché potrete girare tutta la terra, ma a voi stessi dovrete tornare. E, poiché per la maggior parte siamo totalmente inconsapevoli di noi stessi, è estremamente difficile cominciare a vedere entro il processo del nostro pensiero, del nostro sentimento, del nostro agire.
Più conosceremo noi stessi, più vi sarà chiarezza.
La conoscenza di sé non ha limite: non si raggiunge una meta, non si perviene ad una conclusione. È un fiume che non ha fine e man mano che lo si studia, man mano che sempre più vi si penetra, si trova pace. Soltanto quando la mente è tranquilla – attraverso la conoscenza di sé, e non mediante un autodisciplina auto imposta – soltanto allora, in quella tranquillità, in quel silenzio, potrà venire alla luce la realtà. Soltanto allora vi sarà felicità; vi sarà azione creativa.”
